Zone: 4KNOCK OUT® SUNNY SHRUB ROSE
Rosa Knock Out® Sunny is a unique member of the Knock Out® series, prized for being one of the few fragrant varieties in the collection. It produces a continuous profusion of single-petaled blossoms that emerge as a bright, sunny yellow and gradually mature to a soft, creamy white. This transition creates a beautiful multi-toned effect against its exceptionally dark, leathery, and semi-glossy green foliage. Unlike many other yellow roses, Sunny Knock Out® holds its color well and emits a pleasant, light citrus fragrance.
The ideal spot for Sunny Knock Out® is a sunny location with well-drained soil. It features a very upright and bushy growth habit, typically reaching 3 to 4 feet in height. Because of its slightly taller stature and dense form, it is an outstanding choice for colorful privacy hedges, structural foundation plantings, or as a vibrant vertical accent in the back of a perennial border.
In keeping with the rest of the family, Sunny Knock Out® is "self-cleaning" and incredibly low-maintenance. It boasts superior resistance to black spot and powdery mildew, staying clean and healthy even in humid climates. To maintain its shape and encourage a heavy cycle of lemon-to-cream blooms from late spring until the first hard frost, prune the plant back by about one-third to one-half in early spring. Its combination of bright color, fragrance, and rugged reliability makes it a versatile staple for any landscape.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight. Ensure soil is well-draining. Water at the base (avoid getting leaves wet) to prevent fungal diseases. Prune in early spring. These are 'low-maintenance' roses. You can prune individually to shape, or, for large-scale mass plantings, you can use power shears to trim them back by one-third to encourage a flush of new, vigorous growth and continuous blooms.
