Zone: 5GNOME FIRETHORN
Pyracantha angustifolia 'Gnome' is commonly referred to as Gnome Firethorn, Narrowleaf Firethorn or Woolly Firethorn. It is noteworthy for its winter hardiness and dense, compact, semi-evergreen, thorny habit with flaming orange berries in fall that persist into winter. Glossy, dark green, lance-shaped leaves and tight clusters of white flower appear in spring. It blooms on previous season's wood.
Gnome Firethorn thrives in full sun to partial shade in average, well-drained soils. It can be drought tolerant once established. It is ideal for foundations, hedges and shrub borders.
