NEWPORT HARDY PLUM

The Newport Hardy Plum - Minnesota Strain - is an incredibly hardy plum that is quite adaptable and performs well in tough climates. It has an upright, rounded, spreading crown and fragrant pink flowers followed by edible dark purple plum fruit in summer which birds love. Foliage turns red in fall. Grows best in moist, well-drained soils in full sun, but tolerates some shade.
