RHYTHMIC BLUE® BIGLEAF HYDRANGEA

Hydrangea macrophylla 'SMHMES14' PP25836 Proven Winners® Color Choice® Lets Dance® Rhythmic Blue® is commonly referred to as Let's Dance® Rhythmic Blue® Hydrangea. This Proven Winners® Color Choice® selection is easy-to-grow and does not need pruning. It does extremely well in colder climates (Zone 5A). Its flower color is dependent on the soil pH (bluer/violet in acidic soils or pink tones in alkaline soils) and is a continuous reblooming variety that will look fantastic well into fall, aging to a soft mauve color.

Rhythmic Blue® Hydrangea is salt tolerant and thrives in partial sun and dappled shade in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It blooms on old and new wood. It is best not to trim or cut back but only remove dead wood in early spring.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining, rich soil protected from the hot afternoon sun. For pink and blue Hydrangea macrophylla varieties, bloom color is pH-dependent; keep soil slightly acidic for blue tones or adjust toward neutral for pink. White varieties remain stable regardless of pH. Water consistently to maintain soil moisture, as this variety is sensitive to drying out. Mulch around the base to keep roots cool and moist.
