TUFTED HAIRGRASS
Deschampsia caespitosa is commonly referred as Tufted hairgrasss. It is a cool season clump forming native perennial grass with a mounding habit. It features airy masses of finely branched, light green inflorescences that rise above narrow, dark green foliage in early summer.
Tufted Hairgrass thrives in part shade in evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal as a mass planting and appropriate for meadows, rain gardens and wildlife areas for birds who love its seeds and shelter.
