LEMON THREAD FALSECYPRESS

Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Lemon Thread' is commonly referred to as Lemon Thread Falsecypress. This selection is a slow-growing, semi-dwarf, broadly conical shrub that is noteworthy for its finely-textured, bright yellow, thread-like foliage. Foliage stays bright yellow and attractive through winter. Peeling, reddish-orange bark adds to its appeal.

The Lemon Thread Falsecypress enjoys full sun in rich, moist, well-drained soils. Full sun brings out the brightest yellow. It is ideal for foundation plantings and rock gardens.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Provide partial shade, especially during the first growing season. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote new growth.
