HERITAGE® RIVER BIRCH

Heritage Birch is a fast, vigorous grower. It can be grown as a single trunk or a multi-stem. It is noteworthy for its creamy tan bark which exfoliates to reveal a white inner bark that is very similar to the white bark birches. It is such a showy tree! The Heritage also has the most disease resistance of all birches. Its foliage is bright green that ages to a nice pale yellow in fall.

Heritage Birch thrives in wet soils but can tolerate drier soil. It will adapt to full sun or part shade and a wide range of conditions. This low maintenance birch makes a great specimen plant along ponds and in foundation plantings.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
