Aster dumosus 'Wood's Purple' is commonly referred to as Wood's Purple Aster. It is an excellent dwarf Aster and part of the Wood's series of Asters featuring a low growing, compact habit with dark green mildew and rust resistant foliage and semi-double purple blooms that have bright yellow centers. Flowers attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators from late summer to fall.
Wood's Purple Aster is easy to grow, stays neat and is low maintenance. It is deer and rabbit resistant and thrives in full sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal for late season color in borders, cottage and butterfly gardens.
