PURPLE DOME NEW ENGLAND ASTER
Aster novae-angliae 'Purple Dome' is commonly referred to as Purple Dome New England Aster. This New England type, dwarf aster blooms from early fall with vivid clusters of lavender-purple flowers with dark yellow centers. Flowers attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Pinch before the 4th of July for more blooms. It has a compact, mounding, mildew resistant habit with dark green foliage that stays handsome through the growing season.
Purple Dome Aster is one of the most popular Asters in the landscape. This showstopper thrives in full sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is deer and rabbit resistant and is ideal for sunny walkways, containers and cut flowers.
