BOWHALL RED MAPLE

Bowhall Red Maple is a upright, narrow, deciduous red maple tree that makes an excellent street or parking lot tree due to its shapely, narrow habit of only 15-18 feet. It is more narrow than other Red Maples such as the 'Red Sunset' or 'October Glory'. In its growing season, serrated, dark green leaves in summer turn yellow, orange and red in fall. Furrowed silver bark and red branches add to its winter interest.

The Bowhall Red Maple is native to low, wet areas in the eastern US and Canada and will thrive in full sun and evenly moist, acidic, well-drained soils. It is intolerant of alkaline soils.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH, and ensure it receives partial shade to full sun. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
