CRIMSON SENTRY™ NORWAY MAPLE

Crimson Sentry™ Norway Maple is a hardy, slow-growing, deciduous tree with a columnar, narrow habit. It is prized for its compact habit and bold, dramatic color for the entire growing season. In spring, leaves emerge a brighter red than the Crimson King Maple and later turn a deep maroon-purple during the summer months. Leaves are closely spaced along its heavy, upright branches giving the tree a very dense, full appearance.

The Crimson Sentry™ thrives in moist and even wet areas. It adapts to a variety of soils and growing conditions. It prefers full sun exposure of 6 hours or more per day. It's compact size is ideal for narrow streets and small yards. It is tolerant of urban environments and will bring a dramatic element to any landscape design.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Select a site with full sun to ensure the foliage maintains its deep maroon color and upright, columnar form. Dig a hole two to three times the width of the root ball and set the tree so the root flare remains slightly above the soil line to prevent girdling roots. Backfill with native soil, water deeply to eliminate air pockets, and apply a 3-inch layer of organic mulch while keeping it clear of the trunk to protect the bark.
