BLOODGOOD JAPANESE MAPLE

The Bloodgood Japanese Maple is a large, upright to rounded Japanese Maple that will grow 15-20 feet in height with an equal spread. In late spring, small purple flowers emerge followed by red samaras which add to its ornamental interest. Bright red leaves emerge and hold color throughout summer, turning a deep crimson in fall.

The Bloodgood Japanese Maple thrives in full to part sun in moist, rich, well-drained soils. It is a easy care tree and ideal for specimen plantings, small yards, city environments and containers.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining acidic soil with a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with an acidic fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
