VALLEY FORGE AMERICAN ELM

This stately American Elm has proven the most resistant to the Dutch elm disease of all the American elm cultivars. Although it is not completely immune, it has shown great promise. It is also very resistant to the elm leaf beetle. Dark green foliage turns shades of yellow in fall. Appropriate for public parks, golf courses, cemeteries and open landscapes.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with full sun to partial shade, and ensure the soil is well-draining. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with a balanced fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
