Zone: 3BIRTHROOT
Trillium is also known as Birthroot or Wake Robin. It is usually found in wooded areas. It is known for its petals, sepals, and leaves all appearing in sets of three. Trillium is a colorful spring ephemeral, meaning it blooms early every spring before going dormant for the rest of the year. Its flowers range from white, pink, yellow and red. It thrives in full shade in organically rich, moist, well-draining soils. Ideal for woodland areas with filtered sun and rich, moist soil. It will gradually spread by seed year after year if left undisturbed.
