BUMBLE® BUMBLEBLUE SAGE

Salvia nemorosa 'Bumbleblue' is an attractive perennial prized for its prolific, deep violet-blue floral display and exceptionally tidy habit. It produces numerous upright spikes of saturated blue flowers that emerge from dark purple calyxes, creating a rich, two-toned effect throughout the early summer. Its aromatic, deep green foliage forms a dense mound that remains attractive and structurally sound even when the plant is not in bloom. As a high-energy nectar source, it is a constant draw for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, providing a concentrated burst of color that bridges the gap between spring and midsummer.

Salvia 'Bumbleblue' thrives in full sun with well-draining soil. Once the initial massive flush of flowers begins to fade, a quick shearing of the spent spikes will encourage it to produce a second round of blooms in late summer. It is remarkably heat-tolerant and stays naturally resistant to deer and rabbits, making it a reliable, low-maintenance choice for adding deep blue tones to smaller garden spaces.
