DRIFT® POPCORN GROUNDCOVER ROSE

Rosa Drift® 'Popcorn' is a charming and prolific miniature shrub rose that earns its name from its delightful clusters of small, rounded buds that "pop" open into creamy, buttery-yellow flowers. As the blooms mature, they fade to a soft, clean white, creating a multi-toned effect across the plant that resembles freshly popped corn. The flowers are honey-scented and feature prominent yellow stamens, attracting pollinators throughout its long blooming season from late spring until the first frost.

The ideal spot for Rosa Drift® 'Popcorn' is a sunny location with at least six to eight hours of direct light to ensure the densest flower production and a tidy, mounded habit. Because of its compact size - typically reaching only 12 to 18 inches in height - it is an exceptional choice for the front of garden borders, rock gardens, or as a centerpiece in decorative patio containers. The foliage is small, dark green, and remarkably glossy, providing a healthy backdrop that is naturally resistant to common rose diseases. To keep it thriving, plant it in rich, well-drained soil and provide a balanced fertilizer in early spring. Its manageable scale and reliable reblooming make it a favorite for adding a bright, cheerful touch to even the smallest garden spaces.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight. Ensure soil is well-draining. Water at the base (avoid getting leaves wet) to prevent fungal diseases. Pruning: Prune in early spring. These are 'low-maintenance' roses. You can prune individually to shape, or, for large-scale mass plantings, you can use power shears to trim them back by one-third to encourage a flush of new, vigorous growth and continuous blooms.
