AUTUMN FLOWERING ORNAMENTAL CHERRY

The Autumnalis Rosea Cherry, also known as Higan Cherry or Autumn Spring Cherry is a large ornamental cherry tree with a vase-shaped, half-open crown that blooms over a long period of time. It has semi-double to double, light pink flower clusters that are produced in November and again in spring. They are followed by small, black fruits that attract birds. Deep green foliage appears after the flowers drop, turning to warm shades of bronze and gold in fall.

This Autumn Spring Cherry thrives in moist, loamy, sandy, well-drained soils in full sun. Perfect for avenues, streets, parks, cemeteries and large gardens.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
