MANGO TANGO CINQUEFOIL

Potentilla fruticosa 'Uman' PP12258 is commonly referred to as Mango Tango Potentilla. It is a compact, rounded, deciduous shrub that features bicolor flowers which display shades of orange and red over a base color of deep yellow in cooler temperatures. Flowers fade to sunny yellow in the summer heat.

Mango Tango is a tidy, compact mound of pure color and thrives in full sun in average, well-drained soils. It is a tough, hardy plant, but it will not tolerate standing water or consistently wet conditions. It is ideal in mass plantings or containers.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in average, well-draining soil, selecting a location that receives full sun to light shade. While these shrubs are incredibly durable and heat-tolerant, they perform best and maintain the most prolific bloom production when grown in full sun. Ensure consistent water during the first season of establishment to support root development, though they become highly drought-tolerant once fully settled. Prune in late winter or early spring to remove dead wood and encourage a compact, dense habit. These shrubs can become leggy over time, so cutting them back periodically helps maintain their vigor and shape. Apply a layer of organic mulch around the root zone to conserve moisture and suppress weeds, taking care to keep the material a few inches away from the crown to prevent stem rot.
