ELECTRIC BLUE BEARDTONGUE
Penstemon 'Electric Blue' (a variety of P. heterophyllus) is a show-stopping perennial prized for its rare and intense floral color. It forms a low, mounded cushion of narrow, blue-green foliage that serves as a cool-toned base for upright spikes of tubular flowers. The blooms emerge in late spring as a vibrant shade of sky blue, often flushed with shimmering hints of purple or iridescent teal as they mature. This "electric" glow makes it a premier focal point in the garden and a high-priority target for hummingbirds and long-tongued bees seeking nectar.
Standing approximately 15 to 18 inches tall, 'Electric Blue' is a compact and tidy choice for the front of sunny borders, rock gardens, or gravelly slopes.
