GENIE MAGNOLIA

Magnolia soulangeana x liliflora 'Genie' is commonly referred to as Genie Magnolia. It is a Soulangeana x liliflora hybrid - Magnolia 'Black Tulip x Magnolia liliiflora 'Nigra'. This small Magnolia has a pyramidal habit and features showy black-red buds that open to small globular, lightly fragrant, tulip-shaped blooms of deep rich maroon-purple.

Genie Magnolia thrives in full to part sun in evenly moist, slightly acidic, organic, well-drained soils. It does not tolerate consistently wet or poorly drained soil. This is a spectacular specimen, and surely this Genie will grant your wish of a beautiful accent for your home or landscape job. (photo courtesy of PLANTHAVEN INTL, planthaven.com)
