Euonymus fortunei 'Emerald Gaiety' is commonly referred to as Emerald Gaiety Wintercreeper. It is a hardy, low-growing, broadleaf evergreen shrub with variegated foliage of deep green edged in white. In winter months the variegation takes on a unique rose tinge.
Emerald Gaiety thrives in full sun to part shade in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal near retaining walls to help soften structures. It also looks great along paths, sidewalks and any area that needs erosion control.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil in a location that receives partial to full sun. These variegated Euonymus fortunei varieties perform best with some sun exposure - deep shade may cause the leaves to lose their distinct color and become less vigorous. They are drought-tolerant once established and adapt to many soil types, though they avoid waterlogged sites. While these cultivars are more controlled and compact than the 'Coloratus' variety, they are still vigorous growers; periodic pruning will help maintain a dense, tidy shape and encourage fresh color.
