BLUE GLOW GLOBE THISTLE

Echinops bannaticus 'Blue Glow' is commonly referred to as Blue Glow Globe Thistle. Echinops is a member of the Aster family. It is a non-invasive, easy-care clumping perennial with vivid blue flower spheres beginning in early summer. Flower balls attract bees, butterflies and nocturnal moths. Foliage is silver green and contrast well with these uniquely shaped flowers.

Blue Glow Globe Thistle is deer and rabbit resistant and may look scary to touch, but it is not as you might expect. It enjoys full sun in well-drained soil. It will require regular moisture during its growing season but is drought tolerant after that. It is also tolerant of hot conditions and seaside climates.
