Zone: 4MYSTIC RUBY™ BUCKEYE
Aesculus x bushii 'Aaron1' Mystic Ruby™ PP29,092 is more commonly known as Mystic Ruby™ Buckeye. It is a red-flowering Buckeye that is a cross between Aesculus glabra and Aesculus pavia. It features beautiful pinkish-red blossoms in spring and has more cold hardiness than other red-flowering varieties. Showy flowers attract the Ruby-throated hummingbirds which enjoy its nectar-rich flowers. Green foliage is coarse and dense which provides good cover and shelter for wildlife. It is also resistant to leaf scorch and leaf blotch.
Mystic Ruby™ Buckeye thrives in full sun to partial shade in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Foliage is green with an early yellow fall color.
