Acer x pseudosieboldianum 'Winter Queen' (part of the Jack Frost® collection) is an exceptional hybrid weeping maple specifically bred to combine the delicate, lace-leaf beauty of Japanese maples with the extreme cold hardiness of Korean maple genetics. Springing forth with finely cut burgundy-to-crimson foliage, it forms a cascading, mounding canopy that stays richly colored through the summer heat before turning a brilliant, fiery scarlet in the autumn. Reaching a compact mature size of roughly 7 to 8 feet tall and 8 foot wide, its gracefully weeping branches and sturdy structure allow it to hold up remarkably well against ice, heavy snow, and winter winds where traditional Japanese maples often fail.
