BLUE MUFFIN® ARROWWOOD VIBURNUM

Viburnum dentatum 'Christom' Proven Winners® Color Choice® Blue Muffin® is commonly referred to as Blue Muffin® Arrowwood Viburnum. This native has creamy-white flowers in early summer followed by abundant blue berries in late summer and fall and is more compact that other Arrowwood Viburnums. A pollinator is needed for it to bear fruit and the showy Viburnum 'Chicago Lustre' works well for this.

Blue Muffin® Viburnum is somewhat deer resistant and provides berries for all the nearby songbirds. It thrives in full to partial sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal for hedge or foundation plantings or grouped in mass plantings.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with full sun to partial shade. Water regularly but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune sparingly and only immediately after flowering to maintain shape; avoid pruning in late winter or early spring, as this will remove the flower buds for the coming season.
