The ideal spot for Knock Out® Blushing is a sunny location with well-drained soil, though it is notably more shade-tolerant than many other rose varieties. Its growth habit is naturally bushy, rounded, and compact, typically reaching 3 to 4 feet in height and width. This makes it an incredibly versatile choice for informal hedges, foundation plantings, or massed as a colorful groundcover.
Like its relatives, Blushing Knock Out® is "self-cleaning," meaning it drops its spent petals and continues to bloom from late spring until the first hard frost without the need for deadheading. To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight. Ensure soil is well-draining. Water at the base (avoid getting leaves wet) to prevent fungal diseases. Prune in early spring. These are 'low-maintenance' roses. You can prune individually to shape, or, for large-scale mass plantings, you can use power shears to trim them back by one-third to encourage a flush of new, vigorous growth and continuous blooms.
