SISKIYOU PINK WAND FLOWER
Gaura lindheimeri 'Siskiyou Pink' (Beeblossom) is more commonly known as Siskiyou Pink Wand Flower. This beautiful and compact perennial features bright pink, four-petaled flowers that flutter in the wind, resembling tiny butterflies on wispy spikes with red-tinged foliage. It is a North American wildflower that is heat and drought tolerant and attracts butterflies and hummingbirds to the landscape. It enjoys a long blooming season, typically from early summer into fall.
Siskiyou Pink is deer and rabbit resistant and thrives in full sun in sandy, loamy, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Deadheading is not necessary for continued blooming; however, you can trim back some of the stems as a midsummer clean-up. This encourages new stems to emerge and flowers to form closer to the foliage, making everything nice and tidy.
