Digitalis purpurea 'Dalmation Purple' is commonly referred to as Dalmation Purple Common Foxglove. This biennial, short-lived perennial features upright spikes of lilac purple flowers with deep red spotted throats. Flowers bloom from late spring to fall and attracts hummingbirds. In fall the seedheads attract birds looking for a tasty treat.
Dalmation Purple Foxglove is deer and rabbit tolerant and thrives in full sun to partial shade in average, evenly moist, well-draining soils. It is ideal in beds, borders and other naturalized areas. Word of Caution: Leaves are highly toxic.
