COMPACT HINOKI FALSECYPRESS

The Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Compacta' is commonly referred to as the Compact Hinoki Cypress or Compact Hinoki Falsecypress. It is a classic, dwarf Hinoki cypress that has been written about since 1875. It is a slow-growing evergreen with a consistent, round, dense, conical habit. Its shell-shaped spray foliage is an attractive rich green.

The Compact Hinoki Falsecypress enjoys full to part sun in rich, fertile, moist, well-drained soils.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer in the spring.
