DRIFT® RED GROUNDCOVER ROSE -
18-24 Inches Tall 2-3 Feet Wide--
Rosa Drift® Red is a robust and eye-catching groundcover rose that delivers a dramatic punch of color with very little effort. As part of the reliable Drift® series, it is a cross between a resilient shrub rose and a miniature rose, resulting in a rose that stays low to the ground while maintaining the blooming power of its larger relatives. It produces an abundance of small, scarlet-red, semi-double blossoms with a bright yellow center that adds a spark of contrast to each flower. The blooms appear in continuous waves from late spring through the first hard frost, creating a persistent and vibrant carpet of red.
The ideal spot for Drift® Red is a sunny location with well-drained soil, where it can receive at least six to eight hours of direct sunlight daily. Its low-growing and mounding habit makes it an excellent choice for the front of a border, filling in gaps in the landscape, or cascading over the edges of stone walls and containers. The foliage is a deep, glossy green and is exceptionally resistant to common rose diseases like black spot and powdery mildew. To keep the plant at its best, a quick pruning in early spring to about 6 to 8 inches will encourage a fresh, vigorous flush of red blooms for the new season. Once established, it is notably hardy and requires minimal maintenance to provide a stunning and long-lasting display.
