MINIBECKIA™ FLAME BLACKEYED SUSAN -
18-24 Inches Tall 12-18 Inches Wide--
Rudbeckia hirta Minibeckia™ Flame is a standout in the world of compact perennials, offering a massive floral display on a remarkably sturdy, dwarf frame. It is a member of the Minibeckia™ series and is specifically bred for its uniform, well-branched habit, typically reaching a height and spread of only 18 to 24 inches depending on the specific growing environment. Despite its smaller stature, it produces exceptionally large, bi-color blooms that feature bright lemon-yellow outer petals transitioning into a deep, fiery burnt-orange ring around a dark chocolate central cone. Its long-lasting flowers begin appearing in early summer and continue in abundance until the first hard frost, making it a premier choice for premium patio containers or the very front of a sunny landscape border.
To achieve the best results, Minibeckia™ Flame should be planted in a location that receives full sun, as at least six hours of direct light is necessary to maintain its compact shape and intense petal coloration. It thrives in moderately fertile, well-drained soil and benefits from consistent moisture, though it is quite resilient once its root system is established.
The main difference between Rudbeckia fulgida and Rudbeckia hirta is in its flower size. The hirta cultivars have fewer, but larger flowers. Also, the Rudbeckia hirta stands more upright than the R. fulgida.
