Hydrangea arborescens DreamScape® is an exciting advancement for smooth hydrangeas, bringing massive color and performance to home and commercial landscapes. This upright, rounded, native roots shrub reaches a very manageable 3 to 4 feet tall and 4 to 5 feet wide, maintaining a uniform and mounded habit. In summer, it puts on a spectacular show with bold, 8 to 10 inch mophead flower clusters that open a deep, striking ruby-pink before gracefully aging to a soft parchment-pink. Unlike older pink smooth hydrangeas that tend to flop over during storms, DreamScape® is bred with thick, strong stems that hold the massive blooms proudly upright through heavy wind and rain, all while framed by clean, dark green foliage.

DreamScape® Hydrangea is simple to care for, making it a reliable favorite. Because smooth hydrangeas bloom entirely on new wood produced during the current season, pruning is foolproof - cut the entire plant back by about one-third, or down close to the ground in late winter or early spring to encourage a flush of new growth and summer blooms. It thrives with full morning sun to partial afternoon shade, though it is highly adaptable and can easily handle full sun in cooler northern climates if given consistent moisture. It thrives best in rich, moist, well-draining soil, and because it is exceptionally cold-hardy (Zones 3 to 8), it serves as a dependable, flop-free anchor for mixed perennial borders, low hedges, or foundation plantings.
