Physocarpus opulifolius Lemon Candy™ ('Podaras 3' PP22,362) is a standout native roots cultivar specifically bred for its exceptionally tight, compact form and vibrant color play. It is a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub matures into a neat, rounded mound reaching only 3-5 feet tall and wide, eliminating the sprawling, leggy habit of older ninebark varieties. In early spring, its fine-textured foliage emerges as a brilliant, glowing lemon-yellow before settling into a cool chartreuse for the summer months. Late spring brings a heavy flush of button-like white flower clusters at every branch end, which later transform into decorative red seed capsules by autumn.
