Hydrangea paniculata 'WIMS RED' PP26005 is commonly referred to as Fire and Ice™ Panicle Hydrangea. It is a compact, heat tolerant selection that blooms earlier than other varieties. It features creamy white, cone-shaped, panicle flowers in early summer that turn to pink midsummer and mature to deep red in fall.
Panicle Hydrangeas, such as the Fire and Ice™ Hydrangea, bloom on new growth, typically flowering normally even if cut back or killed by frost the previous season. It thrives in filtered sun in rich, organic, slightly acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal for shrub borders, containers and of course, fresh or dried cut flowers.
