It has a crunchy, sweet flavor that keeps in the refrigerator from 3-6 month. It blooms from late April to early May and is considered a mid-season bloomer. Harvest is in September and October. It tends to be a biennial bearer, meaning the tree bears fruit heavily one year and a bit less the next. It will need a pollinator as it is not self-pollinating.
