Hydrangea macrophylla 'P11HM-1' PP20176 is commonly referred to as Twist-n-Shout® Bigleaf Hydrangea. It is part of the Endless Summer® series of reblooming hydrangeas. This variety has an abundance of large lacecap flowers and vivid red stems which add additional interest. Stems are remarkably sturdy and support the large blooms. Flowers turn pink or blue, depending on soil pH. Pink to red color occurs in more alkaline soils while vivid blues occur in more acidic soils. The addition of aluminum sulfate to the soil will encourage lavender and blue colors and adding lime will produce pink flowers.
Twist-n-Shout® Hydrangea thrives in filtered sun in rich, organic, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal as an accent plant, foundation planting, and perfectly suited for the cottage garden.
