Zone: 5WHEELS OF WONDER® HOT PINK WONDER ICE PLANT
Delosperma 'Hot Pink Wonder', a standout selection in the Wheels of Wonder® series, is a vigorous succulent groundcover known for its exceptionally large and vivid blooms. It produces a carpet of brilliant pink flowers with glowing yellow centers that appear from late spring through the first frost. Its fleshy, needle-like foliage remains a lush green year-round in milder climates, providing a dense mat that effectively suppresses weeds. Because it is highly drought-tolerant and heat-resistant, it is a favored choice for adding intense color to water-wise landscapes and rocky terrains where other plants might struggle.
Delosperma 'Hot Pink Wonder' must be situated in a spot that receives full sun and has excellent soil drainage. It is particularly sensitive to wet feet during the winter months, so incorporating grit or gravel into the planting area is highly recommended. Once established, it requires very little supplemental water and can easily handle the intense heat of a mid-western summer. For the best performance, place it along the edges of stone walls or in a dedicated rock garden where it can spill over edges and maximize its spread. Feeding it with a balanced fertilizer in early spring will help promote a more robust flush of those signature neon-pink blossoms.

To help Delosperma settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant Delosperma in lean, sharply well-draining soil - sandy or gravelly sites are ideal. Delosperma is a succulent that requires full sun and excellent air circulation; it does not tolerate heavy, wet soil, especially during winter months, as it is highly prone to crown and root rot. Water sparingly once established; avoid overwatering and heavy mulching, as these will lead to plant failure.
