Salvia nemorosa Sensation® Deep Rose is a standout selection for those seeking a compact, mounded perennial with intense color. Part of the Sensation® series, 'Sensation® Deep Rose' is celebrated for its dense, upright spikes of rich, rose-pink flowers that provide a warmer alternative to the traditional purples of the species. Growing to a tidy height of approximately 9 to 12 inches, it features fragrant, green foliage that remains attractive throughout the season. Its uniform habit and prolific blooming make it an exceptional choice for the front of the border, mixed containers, or as a vibrant mass planting that reliably draws in bees and butterflies.
To keep 'Sensation® Deep Rose' performing at its peak, it should be planted in a location with full sun and well-drained soil. While it is quite heat-tolerant and can handle drier conditions once established, providing regular water during its first season will ensure a robust root system. To encourage a second flush of rose-colored blooms in late summer, it is highly effective to shear the spent flower spikes back to the basal foliage after the initial spring flowering.
