TAHOE™ CANDYTUFT -
9-12 Inches Tall 18-24 Inches Wide--
Iberis sempervirens 'Tahoe' is also known as Tahoe Candytuft. It is noteworthy for its early spring bloom. This compact, mounding, semi-woody perennial forms a dense mat of narrow, glossy, dark green foliage that remains evergreen throughout the year and typically reaches a modest height of 9–12 inches with a spread of 18–24 inches. 'Tahoe' distinguishes itself by producing a spectacular profusion of pure white, four-petaled flowers clustered atop the foliage several weeks earlier than many other varieties, effectively blanketing the plant like a patch of snow. This low-growing, tidy habit makes it an ideal choice for use as a beautiful groundcover, rock garden specimen, or perennial edging along walkways, offering a fine-textured, low-maintenance feature in the landscape and is generally resistant to deer and rabbits.
'Tahoe' Candytuft requires a location that receives full sun to light shade, with sunnier sites promoting the most prolific flowering. Essential to its health is excellent soil drainage, as it is intolerant of wet or poorly drained conditions which can lead to crown rot. It thrives in average, well-drained, sandy, or gravelly soils with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Once established, it is drought-tolerant.
