FOXTAIL SOUTHWEST WHITE PINE -
12 Feet Tall 4-5 Feet Wide--
Pinus strobiformis 'Foxtail', commonly known as Foxtail Southwestern White Pine, is a distinctively ornamental evergreen prized for its unique foliage texture. It features soft, silvery blue-green needles that are densely clustered and taper significantly at the tips of the branches, creating a bushy, tufted appearance that is reminiscent of a fox's tail. It has a refined, compact, pyramidal habit and typically grows 12 feet tall with a spread of 4-5 feet. As it matures, its bark transitions from smooth and silvery-gray to a rough, dark gray-brown, adding a rugged, picturesque quality to the landscape.
Foxtail Southwest Pine thrives in full sun and excellent draining. It can be quite drought-tolerant once established. It prefers a moist, but well-drained, loamy soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Ideal for specimen plantings and rock gardens - it makes a perfect focal point near an entryway or a patio.
