TSUKASA SILHOUETTE JAPANESE MAPLE -

Acer palmatum 'Tsukasa Silhouette' is remarkably narrow with a tight columnar growth habit. Unlike most Japanese Maples that spread wide with a mounding habit, 'Tsukasa Silhouette' grows as a slender pillar, typically reaching 15 feet with a 6-foot spread. Its small, palmate leaves emerge a bright chartreuse green in spring, maturing to a rich deep green through the summer months. In autumn, it provides a spectacular finale, as its foliage transforms into a brilliant, fiery crimson red that holds its color well before dropping for the winter.
Tsukasa Silhouette Japanese Maple is prized for being one of the most heat and sun-tolerant Japanese Maples available, making it a viable choice for Zones 6-9. While it can handle full sun in many regions, providing some dappled afternoon shade is still recommended in hot climates to prevent potential leaf scorch. It enjoys moist, well-drained, and slightly acidic soil enriched with organic matter. Maintenance is minimal due to its naturally discipled form, and it requires very little pruning.
