YUCCA FILAMENTOSA
Grower Notes:

Yucca filamentosa is commonly referred to as Common Yucca or Adam's Needle. It is a multi-suckering, low evergreen shrub with stiff, erect, sword-like green leaves with good color retention throughout winter. In early summer a 10' tall flowering stalk rises from the center bearing a long terminal panicle of bell-shaped, fragrant, creamy white flowers that last for weeks. Propagation is easy with basal offsets that form throughout the growing season.

Adam's Needle is easily distinguished from other yucca species by white, thready filaments along the leaf margins. It thrives in average, well-drained soils in full sun. It is quite tolerant of poor soils, heat, drought and salt spray. It is ideal for dry slopes and garden areas and works well in containers.
