VALIANT™ LILAC MYRTLE

Vinca Valiant™ Lilac is a premium selection from the Valiant™ series, specifically bred for its superior vigor and enhanced resistance to soil-borne diseases. This annual selection is known for its large, high-quality blooms that feature a soft, serene lilac-purple hue, often accented by a small white or light-colored center. It possesses a robust, mounding habit with thick, glossy green foliage that provides a sturdy structure for its prolific flowers. Because of its hybrid vigor, this Valient™ series tends to establish more quickly and maintains its lush appearance longer into the autumn than more traditional varieties.

The ideal spot for Vinca Valiant™ Lilac is a location with full sun and exceptionally well-drained soil, though it can tolerate light afternoon shade in very hot climates. It is particularly well-suited for large-scale landscape plantings, hanging baskets, or patio containers where its mounding form can be showcased. It requires very little supplemental watering once established and is a fantastic choice for gardeners seeking a high-impact, low-maintenance plant that can withstand the rigors of a humid, mid-western summer.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil consistently moist during the first growing season. Fertilize lightly in the spring with a balanced fertilizer. To ensure optimal performance, it is best to plant it once the soil has warmed thoroughly in the spring, as this will help the root system take hold without the stress of cold moisture.
