Thuja plicata 'Eschrich's Grune Kugel' is commonly referred to as Grune Kugel Western Red Cedar or Western Red Cedar. This unique dwarf western red cedar has all the characteristics and appeal of 'Spring Grove' Arborvitae, but in a small, mounding, globose form. It features glossy, mint green foliage that darkens with bronze-purple tips during the winter months. It is a slow-grower that tends to resist heavy snow loads to maintain an erect upright form without any real damage.

Eschrich's Grune Kugel Western Red Cedar is deer resistant and easy to care for. It thrives in mostly sunny conditions in rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils.
