Thuja occidentalis 'Degroot's Spire' is commonly referred to as Degroot's Spire Arborvitae. It is a dwarf, slow-growing, narrow, conical arborvitae with a pyramidal habit. It features flat, twisted, scale-like, dark green foliage that takes on a purple tinge in winter.
Degroot's Spire Arborvitae is low maintenance and thrives in full sun in rich, slightly acidic, loamy, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It will not tolerate drought conditions and will benefit from shelter to winter extremes. It is ideal for shrub borders, hedges and screens. It also makes a beautiful specimen plant!
