SYRINGA VUL CONGO
Grower Notes:

Syringa vulgaris 'Congo' is commonly referred to as Congo Common Lilac. It is a upright, deciduous shrub with glossy green, heart-shaped leaves and reddish-purple upright flower panicles in late spring or early summer. It is a heavy blooming variety with heavily scented flowers that are ideal for cutting. When pruning, prune immediately after flowering as the following years' buds are produced by midsummer.

Congo Common Lilac is deer resistant and thrives in full sun in rich, fertile, sandy, evenly moist, well-drained soils.
