DOUBLE PLAY® RED SPIREA

Spiraea japonica 'SMNSJMFR' PP26993 is commonly referred to as Proven Winners® Color Choice® Double Play® Red Spiraea. This selection features bright red flowers in spring with emerging burgundy-purple mounding foliage that turns green through the growing season. It has a dense, mounded form that is easy to maintain.

Double Play® Red Spirea thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal for foundations, mass plantings, shrub borders and cottage gardens. The Double Play® series of non-invasive Spirea consistently turn a fantastic double play with vibrant color contrasts in both foliage and flower.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote new growth.
