MYSTIC SPIRES SAGE

Salvia 'Mystic Spires' is a sophisticated and robust hybrid prized for its nearly constant display of sturdy, upright flower spikes. It features long, dense racemes of deep true-blue flowers that emerge from dark calyxes, creating a saturated color effect that stands out from a distance. Its foliage consists of large, triangular, dark green leaves that are slightly pointed and provide a lush, textured backdrop for the heavy bloom production. From late spring through the first hard frost, it serves as a primary destination for pollinators, particularly large butterflies and hummingbirds that are drawn to its consistent nectar supply.

The ideal spot for Salvia 'Mystic Spires' is a prominent location in full sun with fertile, well-draining soil, as it requires at least six to eight hours of direct light to support its vigorous growth. Because it reaches a substantial and sturdy height of 20 to 30 inches, it is perfectly suited for the middle of a perennial border or as a high-impact "thriller" in large patio containers. While it is remarkably heat-tolerant and can handle dry spells once established, it performs best with regular moisture and an occasional shearing of spent flower spikes to encourage a tidy habit and even more prolific reblooming. It is naturally resistant to deer and rabbits, making it a reliable and low-maintenance choice for adding architectural height and deep blue tones to the landscape.
