SALVIA GUARANITICA
Grower Notes:
Salvia guaranitica is commonly referred to as Black and Blue Anise Sage or Brazilian Sage. This beautiful Proven Winners®, herbaceous perennial is hardy from Zones 8 to 10 which is why we treat it as an annual here in Ohio. It features fragrant, electric blue flowers with black stems in summer. Deadheading encourages more blooms!
Black and Blue Anise Sage is heat and drought tolerant and thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers fertile, humus-rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal for borders or mass plantings in beds or containers. Butterflies and hummingbirds love it as it provides a reliable nectar source for them.
