QUERCUS PHELLOS
Grower Notes:

Commonly referred to as the Willow Oak, this easily grown large oak is noted for its pyramidal oak shape, willow-like leaves and relatively fast growth rate. It is native to the Southeastern US and typically is found in moist soils and can thrive near swamps and streams.

The smooth-edged, bristle-tipped, narrow green leaves are willow-like. They turn a yellow-brown in fall. Dark gray, irregularly-furrowed trunks develop on mature trees.

Thrives in full sun, and moist, well-drained soils, but can adapt to difficult habitats.
